The Endless Workplace

Ever pushing the cultural boundaries, Flaunt magazine approached us about doing a special concept for their ‘Califuk’ issue, published in October 2015. Since the theme was an imaginary collision of the UK with California, we proposed an endless horizontal workspace to travel over the top of the City of London. It would be a kind of co-working space perfect for both start-ups and established businesses, with a suite of varied work settings. Connection to light and views is achieved through holes in the swiss cheese, with the added benefit of framing views down to the historic sights of London.

Since technology has liberated people and businesses, and enabled genuine mobility, this proposition is not inconceivable and solves time-related problems inherent in a massively densified city.

In the future, you simply walk upstairs to go to work. And back down for a nap. Your GPS tells you were friends and colleagues are. And sensors pick up your inclinations for collaboration, or solitude, and nudge you accordingly.

All images were produced in-house by Humberto Arreola.
