CWa is very proud to announce the promotion of the following staff members who have performed exceptional service to our Clients, and to the development of our internal capabilities over the past couple of years:

Chester Nielsen has been elevated to the position of Associate Principal, Sasha Shumyatsky has been elevated to Senior Associate, and Meghan Kelly and Vernon Saxe are each elevated to the level of Associate.

All four of these people have excelled in the complex, technically challenging and highly collaborative process of conceiving, developing and producing world-quality architecture and design for the firm and its clients.

During his time at CWa, Chester Nielsen has demonstrated his ability to manage multiple award-winning projects, such as The Barbarian Group and Gerson Lehrman Group offices in New York City, Fox Head Global Headquarters in Irvine, and Theranos in Palo Alto, California. He is particularly adept at managing projects over long distance, building and maintaining Client relationships, and spearheading CWa’s new business operations and expansion.

Sasha Shumyatsky has been with the CWa for over six years, during which time he has played a key role in the design of several major projects, such as the Macquarie Bank offices in London and Sydney, the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, and the headquarters renovation for Intuit in Mountain View, California. His three-dimensional skills and design sensitivity have helped shape the unique aesthetic and visual language of the firm, and his leadership skills have guided many projects to successful fruition.

Since joining CWa two years ago, Meghan Kelly has become an indispensable member of the firm. As project manager and Client contact, Meghan has served with skillful diplomacy on projects such as the entertainment company Funny or Die’s offices, KCRW radio station’s new building and Intuit headquarters in the Bay Area. She has demonstrated exceptional initiative and leadership skills, and her elevation will strengthen the firm’s management capabilities.

Vernon Saxe AIA, joined CWa as a well-seasoned Project Architect after years of extensive practice in the Southern California area. His vast and varied experience has made him a valuable asset to the firm, and to the Santa Monica College and KCRW projects, of which he is a team leader. Vernon’s positive attitude, construction expertise and outstanding work ethic have broadened our firm’s capabilities. In addition, his mentorship of younger staff members helps extend our core mission of creating an environment of continuous learning within the firm.

Our Heartiest Congratulations to All!
