After the open office, what comes next?

We have seen the open office done well, and, too often, we have also seen it done poorly. At Clive Wilkinson Architects we are proud of and stand by the many innovative open offices we have designed with our amazing clients around the globe. As we reemerge from the paradigm shifting COVID-19 pandemic, there is no doubt that now is the time to transform the workplace – to look carefully at what parts we have outgrown and should be discarded, and what new opportunities we can embrace.

In response, our team has developed the New Workplace Kit of Parts – 12 reimagined spaces to support and enhance new ways of working in the post-pandemic workplace, as discussed in Fast Company’s thought-provoking article, These architects popularized the open office. Now they say ‘the open office is dead’.
